For many years a man farmed that land and he farmed it just like the man in your story, beautiful crops of corn, asparagus and other vegetables. That man is gone now and the land has been sold to a developer and houses will soon be going up where food used to grow. I will miss watching the farmer work his land that he so obviously loved. Thank you for that story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7986801166033320768.post-28248422246783697872009-03-25T12:58:00.000-06:002009-03-25T12:58:00.000-06:00PS, now I'm married to a farmer.. I often felt the same way you did when my Dad was out so late and I was lying on the couch watching TV, or even sleeping. This is a big THANK YOU to all the hardworking farmers out there that put such wonderful food on our tables. Thank you Leslie for reminding us of that!Katyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07422259713470614509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7986801166033320768.post-83896182615337654892009-03-20T19:44:00.000-06:002009-03-20T19:44:00.000-06:00My heartfelt thanks to both of you! So, I copied it from my email and pasted it here. SO, Leslie, farmerswife99 is my sister, Dana, or "Mama Mimi", one of the other authors on the blog! lol I should have put her name in "Name", instead of her email address! lol

Anyway...I agree with what she said! Good job! Glad to have you here!

KarenBlog Administrator, Karen L. Most people ...This was absolutely beautiful Leslie. Most people see the big tractors and combines and think that the "new" farmer isn't out there using his hands but being married to one I can tell you my husband has pulled plenty of weeds by hand, picked up rocks until his hands are blistered, spent countless days and nights away from me but still loves the land and watching his crops grow. It is a life that our liberal government wants to take away. Thanks for this. I can relate obviously.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
